FabOS component
Convergent network
Transmission of real-time (RT) and non-real-time (NRT) data for industrial control over a converged network.
Project partners involved
Seamless communication with convergent networks
The requirements between Information Technology (IT) und Operation Technology (OT) networks are increasingly blurring into a convergent network.
Project partners involved
Problem:
- In an OT network, strict requirements apply to deterministic real time, NRT components cannot guarantee this
Solution approach:
- In a Time-Sensitive-Network (TSN) network, both real-time and non-real-time data can be simultaneously transmitted.
- A shared memory ensures that the necessary input signals are always available in the control system.
Functions
Networking of network-capable components with different requirements on the real-time capability of data transmission
Connection of real-time systems for the control of industrial components
Distributed applications for data processing
Use cases
FabOS forms the foundation of a modern production environment
Bin Picking
