Configuration of software and hardware – easy and reliable
Based on your individual initial situation and your needs, the One Stop Shop configurator creates a coordinated and tailor-made overall proposal for your new production operating system.

Problem:
- Which components/services do I need and are these the right ones to cover my use case?
- Are all components compatible with each other and can they be integrated into the existing system?
- Can I leverage further potential in my production with just a few additional components?
Solution approach:
- Central point of contact: from initial information through installation to ongoing optimization of the system.
- User information and objectives are matched by the configurator with the software and hardware catalogue.
- The configurator creates an individual suggestion for a complete FabOS-system, which can be obtained from the shop in the One Stop Shop.
- From the configurator you initiate the transfer of components and coordinated proposals to the shopping cart.
- Provides all existing information after purchase to Service Lifecycle Management (SLM) for easy installation.
Functions
Catalog of available services (software and hardware)
Implementation of the existing operating system at the customer
Suggestion/selection from the catalog for the requirement you are looking for
Checking whether components can be matched
Transfer of the confirmed configuration to the shopping cart
After purchase: all information is handed over to goods issue for shipping and commissioning
Use cases
FabOS forms the foundation of a modern production environment
Bin Picking
- Automatic separation of chaotically filled boxes
- High performance for uninterrupted line production
- Automatic identification of unknown parts
- Adaptation to different hardware for commissioning

Project partners involved:
Laser cutting
- Robust, automated removal of parts from the residual grid
- Avoidance of downtimes and manual interventions
- Determination of the removal strategies in advance, without the possibility of modification during production
- Complex part geometries and different material properties
- Need to adapt the removal strategy to different part geometries and material properties

Assembly
- Technical solutions in hand assembly can help reduce human strain
- Quality inspection is important for compliance with quality standards
- DeepInspect uses advanced object recognition methods to assist assembly and check the product for correct assembly.

Milling
- Milled parts require high precision and surface finish.
- Surface finish defects may occur during manufacturing.
- Tools must be replaced preventively to ensure quality.
- A complete check of all components is time-consuming and expensive.

Stock
- Store floor employees often maintain documents in paper form
- Interaction with digital systems is often cumbersome
- Operation of mobile devices (smartphone, tablet, e-paper) is more difficult due to dirt and gloves
- There is no universal language solution for production conditions (noise, mechanical stress)
